RICHARD TRÈFLE
Bespoke Eyewear Artisan
Born in Pointe-à-Pitre, Richard Trèfle has always seen the treasures of Guadeloupe’s nature as a language of their own. From an early age, he dreamed of translating them into works of art. Today, each frame shaped by his hands speaks of that silent promise — to let Caribbean authenticity converse with timeless elegance.

THE MATERIALS
At Maison Bellatrix, each frame draws its essence from the richness of nature and artisanal craftsmanship. While our workshops explore exceptional materials such as fine fabrics and delicate sparkles, four emblematic elements define our identity :
ACETATE
Renowned for its elegance and durability, this acetate, sourced from the Jura region, enhances our creations with its refined textures and endless shades. Each acetate piece embodies the centuries-old expertise of French eyewear craftsmanship, reimagined through the contemporary vision of Bellatrix.
VEGETAL FIBERS
Banana tree, breadfruit tree, sugarcane, coconut, and plant-based sponge: exceptional materials crafted with precision and enhanced by natural dyes to showcase the strength and beauty of Caribbean biodiversity. These fibers provide a unique texture and a deep connection to nature, transforming each frame into a living masterpiece.
MINERAL MATERIALS
he volcanic and natural sand of Guadeloupe brings a raw and distinctive texture, capturing the essence of our landscapes.
Used in our creations, this mineral material imparts a raw, timeless brilliance that elevates the design of our frames.
VEGETAL COLORATIONS
Turmeric, hibiscus, indigo, pitaya, or noni: these vibrant natural hues, carefully extracted, infuse each frame with a unique depth. Each of these shades celebrates the botanical richness of the Caribbean, transformed into an artistic palette by our skilled artisans.
